How Negri Certified works

Negri Certified is not a pay-to-play badge. It is a public standard: three requirements every pick must meet, and a documented process for how we get there.

1. What we test for

Real-world performance. Spec sheets do not ride in your pocket or sit on a 14-hour flight. We prioritize how a product behaves in actual use: battery under mixed load, camera in low light, noise cancellation on a real aircraft, smart locks with guest codes that expire. Benchmarks inform our research; they do not replace it.

Longevity and support. A great launch device with two years of updates is a bad long-term buy. We weight manufacturer track records: software update commitments, warranty handling, and whether prior models were abandoned after launch hype faded.

Price-to-value. We ask a simple question for every category: at this price, is this the best option we can find? If something cheaper does 95% of the job for most people, the expensive pick needs a clear, defensible reason to exist.

2. How picks are chosen

Every guide starts with a market survey: what is actually for sale right now, at what prices, from which retailers. We disqualify products with outdated specs, missing band support for stated use cases, or marketing claims that do not survive basic fact-checking.

Hands-on testing is combined with trusted third-party sources where we cannot buy every SKU. We track street prices weekly so "best under $1,500" still means under $1,500 when you click buy, not at MSRP from six months ago.

Final picks are committal. If we cannot name a winner, we say so. Empty categories are better than filler.

3. What disqualifies a product

Abandoned software support is an automatic out. So is misleading marketing that hides lock-in, rental-only features, or regional band gaps. Reliability complaints at scale (not one-off defects) remove a product until the manufacturer fixes the root cause.

We also disqualify products we would not recommend to a friend, even if they pay the highest affiliate commission. Commission rates never rank picks.

4. How money works here

Negri Electronics may earn a commission when you buy through our links. That is disclosed on every guide and in our Affiliate Disclosure. Monetization is attached after the pick is made on merit. Some recommended products have no affiliate relationship at all.

If a category has no product worth certifying, we publish that honestly. Scarcity keeps the badge meaningful.
